Who is Lorenzo
Lorenzo Candelpergher, graduated in 2000 with an MSc in Civil Engineering in Trento, Italy and has devoted is entire professional career in the construction sector, currently being the Middle East Regional Manager of a major Italian engineering consultancy firm, based in Dubai since late 2011.
Since 2012 he has been actively involved in fundraising initiatives promoted by organizations supporting the research to cure Rett Syndrome, a rare genetic disease affecting his daughter, Sofia. In 2014 his commitment to the cause of research to cure rare genetic diseases escalated to a higher level, having been appointed Mission Ambassador (pro bono) for Telethon Foundation, Italy’s larges no-profit organization funding and developing research for rare genetic diseases, and establishing “One day Sofia…”.
Lorenzo is a member of the Board of Directors of “One day Sofia…”, acting as the Board’s Secretary as per Articles of Association, and he is specifically delegated to developing international relationships with institutions and major donors in the Middle Eeast Region and to expand the operations of “One day Sofia…” in the United Arab Emirates.
